A Therapist Who Actually Listens

Hi, I'm Seden-Hansen Julie. I became a therapist because I believe every person deserves to be met with genuine curiosity and kindness — especially when they're struggling.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Paso Robles, I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the quiet weight of feeling stuck. My approach is collaborative and grounded: we move at your pace, and your goals shape our work together.

I hold that healing doesn't require perfection — it requires a safe place to begin. Whether you're facing a specific challenge or sensing that something needs to shift, I'm here to walk alongside you with warmth and honesty.

Compassion First Every person enters therapy with strength, even when they don't feel it yet.
Relational Healing The therapeutic relationship itself is a powerful catalyst for change.
Your Pace, Your Way There's no rush. We honor where you are and build from there.

How I Can Help

Therapy tailored to where you are and what you need — no one-size-fits-all approach.

Individual Therapy

A private, supportive space to explore anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, or life transitions. Together we'll uncover patterns and build tools that actually fit your life.

Couples Therapy

Reconnect with your partner through difficult conversations, recurring conflicts, or major life changes. I help couples build deeper understanding and healthier communication patterns.

Family Therapy

Families navigate complex dynamics, and therapy can be a place to repair, understand, and grow together. I work with families through conflict, transition, and communication challenges.

Anxiety & Stress

When worry, racing thoughts, or constant stress make it hard to feel like yourself, therapy can help. I offer practical strategies alongside deeper emotional work to restore your sense of calm.

Life Transitions

Career changes, loss, parenthood, relocation — transitions can upend everything. I provide a steady presence to help you navigate change with clarity and resilience.

Self-Discovery

Sometimes the most important journey is inward. If you've been feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure of your next chapter, therapy can be a powerful place to reconnect with who you are.

Therapy That Feels Like a Conversation, Not a Lecture

My practice is rooted in evidence-based approaches — including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and relational-cultural theory — tailored to what works for you, not what's easiest to label.

I believe the best therapy happens when you feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to risk something new. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I'll challenge you when it matters, celebrate your progress, and never rush you through something you need time with.

Common Questions

Everything you need to know before taking the first step.

Your first session is primarily about getting to know each other. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, your background, and what you'd like to work on. There's no pressure to have it all figured out — just come as you are. We'll figure out the rest together.

Please reach out by phone to discuss insurance and payment options. I can provide details about what I accept and help you understand your benefits. I'm committed to making therapy as accessible as possible.

Not at all. While therapy can absolutely help during difficult times, it's also a wonderful resource for personal growth, self-understanding, and building healthier relationships — even when nothing feels "wrong." Many of my clients come in simply wanting to feel more like themselves.

There's no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some clients find relief in a handful of sessions, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll discuss your goals and check in regularly to make sure we're moving in the right direction — at a pace that feels right for you.

Please contact me to discuss telehealth availability. I offer both in-person sessions at my Paso Robles office and, when appropriate, secure online sessions to accommodate your schedule and needs.

If you're reading this, you're already considering it — and that's a sign. Therapy is for anyone who wants to feel better, understand themselves more deeply, or improve their relationships. The free consultation is a great way to explore whether it's the right fit without any commitment.
